Using the osapiens Customer Portal

Next

The osapiens Customer Portal gives you free access to the EUDR information that your supplier shares with you. Your supplier uses osapiens HUB for EUDR and provides you with its assessments, including the reference numbers of the Due Diligence Statements (DDS).

Who Is the Customer Portal For?

The Customer Portal is intended for companies that receive EUDR information from a company that uses osapiens HUB for EUDR. In this Help Center, we call this company your supplier: It is the company from which you buy products containing EUDR-relevant commodities (cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya or wood) and which invites you to the Customer Portal. This applies regardless of your own role under the EUDR.

Within your company, the Customer Portal is typically used by:

  • Compliance and sustainability teams, who need the EUDR information of their suppliers for their own due diligence and documentation.

  • Purchasing and goods receipt teams, who want to find the EUDR information for a specific order or delivery.

  • IT teams, who want to transfer the EUDR data automatically into their own systems, for example into an ERP system.

You do not need your own osapiens license. Your supplier invites you to the Customer Portal and sends you your credentials by e-mail.

  • Customer Portal: You receive EUDR information from your supplier. In this case, you are the customer.

Excursus: What Are the EUDR and a DDS?

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, aims to ensure that certain products placed on the EU market or exported from the EU do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation. It covers the commodities cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya and wood, as well as products made from them, such as chocolate, leather or furniture. These products must be deforestation-free, produced in accordance with the relevant laws of the country of production, and covered by a Due Diligence Statement.

A Due Diligence Statement (DDS) is a declaration that a company submits in the EU information system TRACES. In it, the company confirms that it has carried out due diligence for the products concerned and that the products comply with the EUDR. After the submission, TRACES issues a reference number and a verification code. Together, these two values identify the DDS and allow companies further down the supply chain to refer to it.
